Our Community

Crestone Healing Arts Center is nestled against the western slope of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at an altitude of 8,200 feet with spectacular views of 14,000 ft. high peaks.

Nearby hiking trails, year round creeks, hot springs, winter and summer recreation areas are easily to accessed from our center.

We are a unique conglomerate of artists, musicians, intellectuals, teachers, healers, peace activists, and environmentalists, all of us seeking our own unique spiritual expression through conscious community.

CHAC Director Dan Retuta talks about teaching and living in Crestone 4 minutes 40 seconds into the video.

Our Facility

Crestone Healing Arts Center functions as a dojo, a living structure traditionally regarded as sacred space wherein the healing, martial, and meditative arts are practiced.

Our 3000 sq. foot retreat facility is designed to support an in-residence intensive training format.

  • The center’s high ceiling and post and beam construction encourages openness and expansiveness.

  • Residents have the use of a fully furnished kitchen, a solarium study and dining space, 2 bathrooms, laundry facilities, and open lodging spaces in three loft areas upstairs.

  • A large open multi-purpose central area is used for study, lecture, yoga, martial arts ( Tai Chi, Aikido), and massage practice.

The majority of massage school students  and yoga retreat participants have chosen to live on site.
